The current Shinju Matsuri Board is made up of long-term community members with a huge variety of skills and experience in hospitality, tourism and business management, who are passionate about their town and festival.
Lynne has lived in Kimberley for 50 years.
She has been the sole owner of several businesses in tourism and hospitality, including a retail clothing store, health food restaurant, 4WD Tour Operator, backpackers hostel, and travel agency.
Lynne has played multiple roles for Shinju Matsuri, as an Event Organiser, Committee Member in 1979 and 2006, and currently holding a Board position for 10 years, including 4 years as President.
With 28 years in Broome, Vinka boasts over 30 years of experience in hospitality and tourism, both internationally and domestically. She has owned restaurants/catering services and currently serves as the Operations Manager for the largest meat wholesaler in the Northwest.
Jonathan has lived in Broome for 10 years, has 60 years experience as a Financial Controller including 40 years in management. He has served as Treasurer for various community groups, including Shinju Matsuri.
Sue has lived and worked in Broome for almost 30 years and has a wealth of experience on committees and in the community. She has owned and operated a printing business with her husband and bakery with her son.
She is also a Registered Nurse and has spent her career with a focus on community nursing. The people, the events & the great atmosphere that’s created when community come together to celebrate, is why Sue has stayed in Broome.
Carlee has lived in Broome for 23 years. She started out in tourism and then worked in earthmoving, civil construction and oil & gas before joining the government sector.
She is a CPA and volunteers for the Kyle Andrews Foundation and now with Shinju Matsuri.
Carlee balances her yang work life with a practice and teaching of yoga.
Born and raised in Broome, Matt currently works at Radio Goolarri, where he’s involved in community radio, events, and storytelling.
He grew up with Shinju Matsuri and has a strong love for community and culture and through radio and events, he helps share local voices and bring people together.
