Shinju Matsuri 2011 was a great success.  It began Sat 10th Sept and ran through to Sun 18th Sept 2011

With great attendance numbers for all events we thank the Broome Community for all their help and participation and hope all our visitors had a great time.

Sponsorship was once again extremely supportive, both small medium and large contributions from Local and State Businesses.
Financial and In kind support makes the festival happen, please review our sponsorship page to acknowledge our sponsors.

Funding from Eventscorp and Royalties for Regions  helped raise our festival profile throughout the State and helped bring our guest acts
Adam Liaw- Celebrity Chef for the Long Table Broome Fusion Lunch
Adam Hall and His Swing Band for the Shinju Ball and Closing Ceremony
Sugar Blue Burlesque for the Shinju Ball
Don Hancey –Master Chef for the Pearl Meat Cook Off and the Shinju Ball

Funding from Festivals Australia made the Carnival of Light one of the highlights of the festival.
With help from Big Mama Productions this lantern and music event worked with local school choirs and lantern workshops.
The collective of the school choirs together and the walking of the lanterns on the mud flats was a performance that will be remembered by all who watched.
Attendance was estimated at over 3,000 of both local and tourists.
Thank you to the Broome schools support to make this happen.

Funding from Healthways went towards the sensational street banners that can be viewed on the community page.
Once again the Broome Schools made this happen by each painting a selection of banners in their own chosen images, based on the festival theme.
They were 2m x 0.9m in size and brought the streets alive with Shinju Matsuri- Festival of Broome spirit.
