Float Parade
The Float Parade is a fantastic way to express multiculturalism and unique cultures in a colourful procession of floats, vehicles and performers. A collection of different community, business and interest groups in Broome work on constructing floats and decorating vehicles in the months before the festival. Following a planned route of the streets of Chinatown, onlookers line parks and pavement cheering and applauding their favourite floats.
It’s not about how much you spend or how ostentatious your float, or who takes home a prize. The Float Parade is about the harmonious presentation and celebration of multiculturalism and diversity that reinforces the colour and welcoming spirit of Broome.
